Early March 2022

Got out on Sunday. Fished a public pond and an urban creek.

Caught Largemouth Bass, Bluegills, Redear Sunfish, Green Sunfish, a White Crappie, a Golden Shiner, and a Creek Chub. 4 were new species for the year, bringing me to 17 for 2022 so far.

  1. Dave! What's up? It's Mark aka backwatergallery formerly of Des Moines now relocated to Joplin, MO. Seems like we had similar ideas. I forgot you had this blog, stumbled across your name on Ozarkangler

Wow! Your life-list is getting crazy cool these days. I went to Roaring River SP yesterday, and as contrived and crowded as the whole thing is, it was still a great time, the spring and hatchery are cool, I managed 3 rainbows on a midge pupa pattern and then a fourth on one of those reverse tied midge dries. After that and a hike up to the observation deck that overlooks the hatchery, my old knees told me I was done for the day.

Have you kept in touch with Chad? I'm still getting settled in. I can't send any pictures, I don't have an ISP set up for my PC yet, just scratching this out on an old tablet, but I'll check back in a couple days.

    1. Hello Mark! Great to hear from you! Hopefully we can keep in touch better going forward! I was just thinking about you recently... I'd promised to purchase a piece of your artwork, but never connected on it. And was wondering what you've been up to. So cool you are in MO too! I haven't been to Roaring River. The only trout park I've visited so far was Bennett Spring in January....during the C&R season. I went with a new friend from Arkansas who had been there before. It was a below-freezing day, so not TOO many other anglers there, but there were some. Nice place, but I don't think I'd want to visit it when all the crowds are there. :) I haven't talked to Chad lately...He moved from Saint Louis to Florida several months before I got to Saint Louis. We had talked quite a bit leading up to that. I see his occasional posts on social media. He did send me some pics of big Fliers he caught in north Florida or south Georgia. What's your screen name on Ozark Anglers? Pretty good group of guys there...lots of varying opinions on things, take 'em or leave 'em. :)
